After figuring out what my story essentially needed, I got to writing beat sheets. The beats get clearer with each iteration, and I'm currently working toward greater concision. In the meantime, I designed a 4-point turnaround for Olivia in her janitor garb -- I realized I only had art featuring her in space gear! The hope was to keep the costume's design consistent with the space suits' while standing out and communicating its function. This is the first pass -- I'm sure I'll be making changes to the costume design as I revise the story and form more ideas.
I tasked the two sophomore animators that I recruited with creating character design revisions based on some sketches I made.
One will be designing Baz, the leader of the station's Space Janitors...
And the other will be designing Penny, another of the Space Janitors who just happens to be a tiger.
She's 280 pounds and wields a huge bat.
I've made 6 beat sheets over the past week and plan to make 2-3 more in the next day or two. After I get them checked over, it's script/boarding time!
